Most people would agree with the following...

If you steal someone's wallet but give them a couple of dollars back, then you are still a thief.

If you punch someone in the face, unprovoked, but you give them a towel for the blood afterwards, then you have still assaulted another.

If you have sex with someone against their will but make them a sandwich after, then you are still a rapist.

If you kill someone for sport but buy his kids a pony, then you are still a murderer.

Now, if most would agree with the above statements, then why do so many still think that "but you get some benefits in return!" makes the theft (extortion) of taxation any less of a theft (extortion)?
