Beaver Tattoo, a female possessed and run shop in the heart of Queens. Beaver Tattoo, situated in Woodhaven, New York, is an amazingly balanced and adaptable shop. I am the person,” proprietor and organizer Natalia Borgia says. Eight years prior, Beaver opened up as a completely female run operation to fill a void in the business.

Filled to the roof with multi-hued wall paintings, inviting vibes, and even a protected beaver hatchling or two. Opened in 2009, Borgia needed to make an all female shop in part because of the earth it tends to the harbor. “I’m not saying all the folks are divas in the tattoo business,” she says. “However, in any event, the ones I worked with were.” Carmen Figueroa, a tattoo craftsman of three years who at first started her time as the shop understudy, acknowledges what every craftsman conveys to the table.
