How easy it is to fool yourself in crypto

in #tatticoin8 years ago (edited)

Everyone wants to be rich and financially independent. It's natural now to see crypto as your way out. But are you making sure that you're not on the wrong track? That you're not scamming yourself in the process of getting riches?

If you don't know already, here is one fact: In order to be successful at crypto in the slightest, there are two options.

First: Buy and hodl.

Hodl what though? Predominantly Bitcoin. That time was years ago tbh. Why? No one wants to own 0.025 of anything by giving away a 1000 of something else. I mean owning at least 1 coin is more satisfying psychologically. Forget everything else for a second. This is how anyone who's focused only on "making 1000% money" is going to feel.

If you started in Bitcoin in 2018 hoping it would continue the trend from Dec 2017, you already started on the wrong foot. So what do you do now? Buy altcoins. Which ones? You head to twitters and facebooks then eventually realising twitter is where it's at.

Second: Trade alt coins to gain more bitcoins.

To be able to be successful at crypto while not knowing much about it, you should at the very least follow some right names in the crypto space on twitter. Which is what I did too. Over the last few months I have carefully curated a list of good people from crypto. Then kept weeding out nonsense users who won't matter. But even then I had to post this when one of the altcoin handles many people follow started posting about this.

Remember that this is a user I like and follow and will continue to. But this just made me more alert and aware. I want you to be that as well. You can't go wrong with NOT trusting strangers. Even though they're well meaning they can still hurt you if you're not wise enough.

Now here comes TattiCoin. Right on the home page you look for whitepaper as you would normally (yeah right), you see Brownpaper instead. Oh okay something new the techies came up with .. Will find out about it later. I'll open in another tab to read up later. It gets lost in the plethora of tabs you have opened since 2 weeks while giving you an illusion that you read all that.

TATTI: What it is? In Hindi, Tatti literally means Shit, or Turd depending on the context. Is there a difference in these two words? Well there are some words fit better in one context and some in another even when they mean the same. You'll never say turdcoin.

The other day it started an airdrop. You see the fun they're having yet? I had a good laugh at it.

Now read their hashtags on twitter. Go read their activity of @TattiCoin. #OwnYourTatti. LOL really! 😇

If you know who John McAfee is in crypto world, here's another gem:

So this is why I believe they're more in it for the fun of it. Here are a couple more parting examples if you still need some more proof and entertainment:

From their FAQ page

BEST one yet, from their brownpaper:

Do you love them yet?

I know what Tatti means and knew it was a shitcoin the moment I read the name first. If you head to tatticoin.com and forget about reading the brownpaper (heheh), if you just GLANCE over to their faq page, it won't even take you 2 seconds to realise it's a shitcoin. Quite literally. They are screaming that at us themselves. It's probably their way of getting back at 4chan :)

And yet, the altcoin enthusiasts are posting mindlessly on twitter about it. Do a search on twitter yourself and see what I mean.

Ultimately, what I imagine the founders of Tatticoin are:

  1. Smartest kids who sat on the second-last or third last benches when they were in school. NOT the last bench. (This may not make sense depending on your schooling experience)
  2. Best at getting entertainment no matter what. Doesn't matter at whose expense.
  3. Probably wealthy themselves from childhood.
  4. They will never lose. YOU have to know better.
  5. Lovable rogues. But rogues nonetheless. It's good to know them IRL but keep your distance.

Right now they're doing a private sale. I don't think they're necessarily doing this for the sake of scamming people. But the truth is they are going to in the process. For sure. I don't know the truth but I believe they're probably in more for the excitement and entertainment of it rather than anything else. Remember this guy in Ocean's Twelve?

Remember to do your own research always, before investing in altcoins. Always. And also don't forget that you're the first person who can fool yourself before anyone else can.

Learn the difference between investing and speculating. And for the love of all that is holy, don't trade your precious ETH for this shitcoin.
