How do I combine many things I love? Leverage a fantastic DAPP on the best blockchain to review wonderful Beer and enjoy lunch in a newly opened establishment! The only thing I am missing is my pals here but now I get to welcome you inside Herald Haus Brewing Company on its grand opening.

This brand new brewery is housed within one of the oldest and most famous areas of our little town in what used to be the home of the Stratford Herald newspaper https://www.stratfordbeaconherald.com/ It is owned by the same folks as Bard's Steakhouse, and The Hub (which I have reviewed here https://steemit.com/tasteem/@zekepickleman/tasteem-71e722) You can see city hall reflected in the brand new windows.

They have done a great job with preserving the wood floors and restoring some of the remnants of the original building. Apparently, they found many neat and old things while renoivating and restoring.

IMG_5100.jpg

The decor is a tribute to the old news paper and infamous stories from decades past. Nice shiney tanks for the hipsters to drool over and lots of wood for a neat saloon feel.

This guy is like a honey badger hanging so close to the RESTRICTED AREA.

First things first. You need a beverage so that you can decide upon your lunch with a soothed pallet. When I hit a new brewery, I either head straight to the closest thing they have to an IPA, or I grab a flight to sample a number of the brews. Afterall, it is a rare day in Pickletown that I get a chance to try 4 new beers. They were out of their APA (American Pale Ale so a flight it is!

This radiantly beautiful, masterfully framed shot gives you an array of hues and hops as spelled out in chalk on the paddle.

IMG_5105.jpg

From this hispsteresque, subordinate view from below, you prostrate to the majestic H2 Golden Ale, Abandoned at the Altar raspberry Berliner Weisse, Brooks Steamer Stout, and GTR Rusty Rail Red Ale https://www.heraldhaus.com/beer None of them seem to sound too refreshing when you read them that way but I will judge for myself.

IMG_5103.jpg

But second! I should pick some food while I sip on som H2 ale. I am not much of a fan of charcuterie boards of random salt, or straight carbs when enjoying.....liquid carbs. This menu has a good variety of stuff you won't see everywhere, leaning a bit to the German namesake.

IMG_5108.jpg

I opted for the Montreal smoked meat sandwich. Past readers will be proud of me for snapping a pic before I started eating! With the neat fresh cooked chips, I finished off the H2 Ale, which I would best describe as a good lawn-mower beer. When you are daddying and mowing and want to enjoy 1 or 4 beers while you get the house stuff done. CHips were great!

I evaluated the rotation they had presented me with via the flight, and decided that a red ale might be better before a malty stout or a tart sour. This tirned out to be a very good pairing with the smoked meat sandwich.

IMG_5110.jpg

I apologize to the vegetatians who may not enjoy that shot but it was piled respectfully, had a gret texture, and the beer mustard and sauerkraut was tasty!

IMG_5105.jpg

I have to drop that shot again to accompany the nice malty smokey stout that helped me finish off the chips. Then, the sour became dessert. Not over done or underwhelming as this was a really good first available sour! I am a little spoiled by https://www.halfhoursonearth.com/ but it blows me away sometimes. This sour was less so, but something I would try again.

IMG_5102.JPG

All in all, the beer was good, food was a great part of an early afternoon, and the people were nice and happy to be there. Can't get much better for a grand opening week.

The renovation alone is worth visiting, location is central, parking is easy, and you can be cool like Zeke if you pull up and have a taste. You won't regret it.

I like Brains myself, a really good beer

Brains huh? I occasionally kill mine with beer. ;)

The old stuff they found there adds so much character to the place. The pink beer looks interesting. Is it really sour as the name suggest?

It is rather sour compared to the other brews but not a slur as I have had from other breweries. If you have not had a sour yet, I would find one to taste as they are the new rage

Sounds like a great brewery! Hope to get there some day!

If you do come to Stratford, make sure to let me know! I will arrange the best tour of the local breweries and restaurants for sure.

Lol! The closest I have been to there is Sarnia and Niagara Falls... both on work trips. But maybe someday!

They should pay you for writing a review for them! Haha, it does look like a nice warm place to chill and chat with friends. Super hipster and instagram worthy spots. :D

It is definitely a place for that. Once steem and tasteem take that next step and is widely adopted, maybe they will add those social media tags to their coasters and menu!

I feel like a bit of a hipster photographing my stuff but I am pretty covert about it and it is for the blockchain!

Only a matter of time man, only a matter of time... :)

I love the pressed metal roof - very cool

It is a neat effect. Among all the very old and very new, it is all very new but matches the very old kinda nicely.

Very nice place. Stylish))

Bro... You need to do this for a living!

I am working on it. Slowly leveraging my business and blockchain towards full time beerology!
