Kwe Tiaw Akang in Jakarta, Oh Yeah !!!!

Damm, i Love Jakarta, some may hate it because of its traffic, but for me its about managing time. Nonetheless, this tasteem review under the context of Local Dishes.

Well for me, this is clearly Indonesia Style of Fried Flat Rice Noodle(Kwe Tiau) the local Jakarta way. According to my friend, this guy called Akang is super famous in his Kway Tiaw (Kwe Tiau) frying skills thus made him popular and open stall such as this below.

This is located in China Town of Jakarta, there are tones of chinese food restaurant in this area, easily hundreds of them , but our group decided to try something local and tasty. Akang KWe Tiau Goreng it is then!!!!

Akang Kew Tiau has 5 branches , not bad right ? We are trying at the Jln Mangga Besar branch because we stay around this area.

These are their menus from top to the bottom, me and my mates of cause tried their signature Kew Tiau Goreng, and also other dishes.

We paid Rupiah 359,000 / $26 for about 5 people, ordered 6 main dish and 5 drinks, thats about $5.50 per pax.

After our dinner, this guy caught my attention, selling something like "Otak Otak " like those found in Muar Johor, Malaysia.

These are fish, crab and prawn meat mash it together and cover it with banana leaf and toast it over charcoal.

The inside looks like this, taste quite fishy in a good way but tasty , It has a dipping sauce , once pair it , really very tasty. yummmyyyy......

Speech less.... till i do not know how much it cost, because it was paid by my friend, he bought it for us.
