STEEM Food Tours #80 : BUDDY’S • Lucena City, Quezon
Hello Steemitverse and foodies around the world!
One of our traditions is spending the weekends specially Sunday with our family. So, let me show you another popular restaurant in Quezon, specifically in Lucena City in one of our Sundays.
This restaurant is proudly founded here in Lucena since 1991 and spread across Metro Manila with their remarkable Filipino foods.
This branch of Buddys restaurant is located at 2nd level, SM City Lucena, Quezon. The interior is inspired with sunflowers and “Kipling” for its trademark in-connection with the “Pahiyas Festival” of the province every 2nd week of May. Overflowing costumers eating inside is just a normal scenario everyday. So, if you’re planning to dine in here, give yourself at least 30 minutes to wait for the vacant table to be seated and some few more to get your food.
Kiping is a traditional Filipino leaf-shaped wafer made from glutinous rice. It originates from the city of Lucban, Quezon. It is celebrated annually in the Pahiyas Festival. It can be eaten grilled or fried and can be dipped in sugar, vinegar, or other sauces. -Wikipedia
And the reason why are these mouthwatering dishes:
Diang na Bangus, a fried milkfish marinated in vinegar, lots of garlic, pepper and salt.
Crispy Buntot ng Tanigue, this is a deep fried tail of Pacific Mackerel covered by flavorful and crispy breading.
Embutido, it is a Filipino-style meatloaf made from ground pork, eggs, carrots, bell pepper, pickles, sausage, salted egg, onions, garlic, salt and pepper rolled in aluminum foil to form a log.
Porkchop Steak, this one is obviously another meat served in a sizzling plate with gravy, green beans, corn and carrots on the side.
Fresh Spring Roll, this is basically strips of heart of palm, sweet potato, carrots, pork and shrimp sauted together with other seasoning wrapped in egg crepe with sweet peanut sauce.
Lastly, we got Bulalo, soup from beef shanks mixed with vegetables like corn, green beans, cabbage and petchay. Tasty! It’s eating like fiesta!
Here in the Philippines, we celebrates the fiesta or festival with lots of food. And thus the tag line of Buddys, “Dito parang laging Fiesta” (Here, it is always a feast) .
This is us enjoying the feast. 😋😋
Thank you and have a good day!
