Food Sharing #130 - Makoto Sushi Bar @ Chatswood, Sydney

Hi Everyone,

I rarely go to sushi train as having the kids with me would be just too hard and there aren’t many options for them they don’t eat raw fish. As I was having a haircut one day, I decided to drop by Makoto to have a quick lunch. This sushi bar is known to have many people during the weekend but due to me arriving late in the afternoon, I had a seat very quickly.

As it is a sushi train, there are various sushi on the belt. Raw fish, cooked food, dessert, fried food etc. There are also menus for you to order from so if you can’t wait, you can order them from the chef. Apart from sushi, you can order udon, tempura, ramen and various small cooked dishes.

There is the menu for the sushi on offer. During lunch, most plates are $3.50 with a few exceptions in various prices depending on the plate colour. You can also order hand rolls which are freshly made to order. Another menu also offers full size cooked dishes for those who don’t want raw food. I ordered a bowl of fisherman soup which is their special soup. Lots of seafood and a nice hot soup will go well with the sushi.

While I waited, I had 3 other plates of nigiri - salmon belly (not pictured), kingfish and snapper which was sooooo fresh and yummy. Then my soup came which was just perfect. It had some fish balls, salmon, mussels, prawns, seaweed. But don’t get fooled, you don’t get the scampi body, just the head for the taste. Overall you can’t go wrong with sushi train provided they are fresh and the slices are not too thin. The soup I found was a bit salty which I found strange as normally it is not that bad. It was a nice quick meal to have and enjoy which I don’t get many of them.

有了小朋友之後比較少吃迴轉壽司因為很多東西都是生的所以不適合他們吃. 有一日剪完頭髮之後，有時間就自己去食迴轉壽司. 這裏除了有壽司之外，有其他東西- 有烏冬，拉麵，天婦羅等等. 我在迴轉壽司部份食了三碟壽司和叫了一碗海鮮湯. 雪梨天氣比較冷所以喝一碗碗湯非常窩心.這裏的壽司非常新鮮但個人覺得湯比較鹹.
