Food Sharing #141 - Mr Lu @ Chatswood, Australia

Hi Everyone,

Apart from going to work and getting lunch as a takeaway, I rarely get them as I prefer to cook my meals fresh at home. But this has changed recently when I found a nice mini store that sells marinated meat at Chatswood around the Asian grocery area near the station. They sell some awesome stuff for people to take home.

Mr Lu sells marinated ducks, fatty pork belly, chicken feet, tripe, pig stomach, duck giblets and so on. They even have the full pigs tail and pork totter if you fancy them. I haven’t had pig tails like that before and I don’t even know how to start eating it! There isn’t much of a menu but rather the food is displayed for customers. Dishes vary each day depending on what they make. Once you pick what you want, they will weigh it to see how much you have to pay. Then you decide if you want it cut or not which is very important as some customer prefer to take the whole duck home uncut. Once you decide that, they will ask you if you want it mixed with non-chilli or chilli sauce.

This time, we ordered a big piece of pork belly and 3 big scoops of duck giblets. All needed to be cut with non spicy sauce. After the food is weighed, we see the chef cutting inside preparing this for us. Both boxes cost $22 which was acceptable as the box of giblet will last me 2 days. The mixing sauce that they used was just delicious. I am so glad we found this gem! I don’t make any marinated food at home so having someone do the job for you makes life a lot easier.

大家好. 平常我很少吃外賣因為覺得新鮮煮比較健康但最近找到一家專門賣滷水的外賣店. 滷先生賣很多好吃的 - 比如滷水鴨，扣肉，鳳爪，鴨胗等等. 他們還有賣整條豬尾和豬蹄, 我真的不知道怎樣吃這條豬尾，看起來有點怕怕哈哈. 選好買什麼就告訴他們，看看多重就付錢. 之後他會問要不要切你剛買的東西因為有型客人喜歡正只鴨或拿豬尾回家. 如果選擇切就可以叫他們放點辣或不辣的醬油弄在一起. 今次我們買了扣肉和鴨胗. 他們做的味道真的不錯，以後會多來這裡買東西回家吃
