Food Sharing #94 - The Cafe @ Hamad International Airport, Qatar
Hi Everyone,
Airport food in my experience is never that great with the except of Singapore and Hong Kong, they are expensive, tastes average and usually smaller servings. On our way home from Doha on our recent trip to Europe, our boys really wanted to have some noodles as they missed Asian cuisine so we found a nice place in Doha International airport that serves a decent soup noodle.
Let’s have a look at the menu first. Not a whole lot of choices but sufficient to keep your belly full before a flight.
We ordered a chicken noodle soup, a roast chicken rice, a cup of tea and an ice chocolate frappe. Here comes our meal.
As you can see, the servings were quite substantial. We were thinking to ourselves lucky we only ordered 2 meals or there will be food left to waste. The waiter also saw we have two kids so they changed our drinks to takeaway cups to eliminate any chance of them dropping the cups if they want some from us.
The taste was above average for the noodles. It was more substantial than expected and the taste was quite nice considering it is food from the airport. On the other hand, the rice dish was very ordinary and can argue that there is not enough meat - there was just way too much rice. The other suggestion is maybe more sauce will be nice so we can mix it with the rice as it is a bit bland. The drinks were average and met expectations. Price was it is a bit expensive compared to food outside but for the serving and at the location, it is acceptable.
There were plenty of seating and room for your hand luggage. Service was good and were very accommodating with our little ones.
