Food Sharing #78 - Mr Wu @ Broadway, Australia
Hi Everyone,
Today I’ll be taking you to a Chinese Restaurant called Mr Wu located at the Broadway Shopping Centre in Sydney. We used to live around this area and previously, the shopping centre didn’t have any good food options but after they have renovated and revamped it, the restaurant choices were much more appealing. We also like coming to Broadway as it has free undercover parking which comes in handy when it rains or if we are buying a lot of things on the day. The restaurant we visited was called Mr Wong. During the weekdays, there is a lunch special which is around $15 for a dish + a drink. As we visited during the weekend, there was no lunch special so we ordered from the main menu which we prefer most times when we visited. Let’s have a look at some parts of the menu.
For this meal, we ordered a garlic chicken, XO sauce vermicelli with prawns & duck stir-fry noodles. Sometimes I would order the pigs stomach with preserved vegetables but it seems to be a lot for the 4 of us.
The chicken is our family favourite. You get the full chicken and is always nicely made with fresh crispy skin. XO sauce vermicelli with prawns was popular on the day and we demolished it immediately as the sauce was just right, not too spicy. Lastly the duck stir fry noodles was really salty but it was nice to have once in a while. We didn’t finish the noodle dish so we took it home which saved me cooking a dish that night. The price of the restaurant is considered expensive in the area as it is aimed at uni students but compared to some of the places we eat normally, it is considered reasonable price and the servings are larger than the average
