Congrats to the winners.. I hope I be amongst the winners next time.

Hi there I am really interested in joining @tasteem

I got some questions first? Is the voting system different to the voting on steemit? What I mean by that does it depend on how much SP I have to get to the top with my review or is it a different systemd on your website

Second question do you have a discord channel?

Greetings @redtravels

Hi,

This is logic from Steemcleaners.
I'd like to talk to someone who created this app. Do you have Discord channel?
It appears that almost all users that use it farm it's curation through plagiarism of restaurant reviews. Usually google translation from other language into English.
I'm not entirely sure for who this app has been created for, as there are only maybe about 10-15 legit food/restaurant bloggers on Steemit.

Obviously, only tiny amount of people can afford such hobby as regular dining. It's an expensive hobby.
99% of restaurant reviews using these app have been found to be plagiarism.
How's that helping Steemit grow?
The balance of abuse to potential benefit, does not make sense.

Hi, @logic. I'm one of the assistants for the team at Tasteem. You've made a very valid point and it's one that Tasteem is trying hard to figure out a solution for.

Tasteem Global is going to be temporarily closed, to allow for different languages and needs of each country/region. There will be a Tasteem app for each of them, beginning with those with the highest participation rate. So hopefully, that will solve a lot of the poor Google translations and plagiarism, as well as make it easier for the team to handle abusers. Tasteem is very sincere in wishing to pick out and accumulate genuine reviews.

There will also be a Tasteem for people comfortable with reading and writing English, and after a lot of data is gathered, travellers will hopefully be able to pick up some information on restaurants around the world. Tasteem was created for them and potential new members who might be motivated to join Steemit, as well as those who are already established as food/restaurant reviewers.

Tasteem started in South Korea, where eating out is very much an everyday habit for most people, whether it be ordinary low-priced meals or fine dining. Having said that, you don't need to be a regular diner to enter one of Tasteem's Contests. There are two every week and you can post for the ones you can.

Thank you for expressing your concern, and should you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask me!

Hi jamieinthedark,
Thank you for explaining. All the best with the project.
