The Mightiest in the World
Kaidonno is an authentic Japanese restaurant (their own words according to Google map) that does donburi. Thats a bowl of rice with meat and garnish on top. This particular store has a slogan which roughly translates to The Mightiest in the World. Why? I'll show you in a minute.
This is the entrance of the restaurant which is located inside a shopping mall. Luckily it wasn't very busy when I went so didn't have to wait for a table. When I finished dinner, there were groups of people waiting to get in.
The inside of the restaurant goes by an industrial look with dashes of bright orange from the chairs, menu and some of the decor.
The menus were laid out on the table as we arrive. They're quite big as they have photos of all the different types of donburi and the topping you can get. Remember I said their slogan is The Mightiest in the World? This refers to their donburi where they pile it up with slices of meat so its like a mountain! How mighty is that! And they all looked really tempting.
I ordered their most popular bowl of rice which came with a mountain of sliced beef according to the menu. My wife ordered a smaller bowl that came with an egg marinated in a sauce. Japanese matinated eggs are normally very nice. Here's are our orders which look pretty much like the menu. It seemed like there were endless layers of meat underneath my bowl of rice.
The meat was very tasty and came with some veg so it's not all protein. Although the bowl doesn't look very large, trust me, it's very filling even for me. My wife liked her donburi very much, especially the egg.
I should be coming back again.
