The most delicious dumplings
One of Taiwan's most famous retaurant is unoubtedly Din Ta Fung, and they are most famous for their dumplings. They have restaurants in many locations around Asia including China, Korea, Japan , as well as USA. Although they are good, I find them a bit overrated. At USD6.6 for 10 pieces it may sound cheap, but when you factor in waiting over an hour for a table, you may want to reconsider your visit.
So today I want to introduce you to a gem. It is called The Taos and is a small local eatery in in Taiching Taiwan. Their dumplings is as good as, if not better the the Taiwan leader, and the best thing? It only cost USD2.6 for 8 pieces.
Everytime I go there, I order at least two portions just for myself. A good dumpling will be made of a thin layer of pastry which doesn't break when you lift it from the basket, include a tasty filling and most important of a mouthful of soup inside the wrapping making the whole dumpling nice and moist.
This little eatery also does other food such as fried pancakes and cold dishes which you can see from the first photo. I normaly just go for the dumplings, this on this occasion I have order 3 portions between the two of us.
And the best thing apart from being affodable and tasty? You don't need to wait a long time for a table.
