Every year, we have made it a tradition to check out the Ayala Triangle Garden's Christmas Lights and Sounds show. This year, since we haven't had a decent dinner when we decided to grab a bite.

Poco Deli was one of the restaurants along the Ayala Triangle Garden. We don't usually go out on dates nowadays, but when we do, we make sure that we experience the best aspects. There are a couple of things we look for in a restaurant: the place, the price, and of course, the food.

The Place

Looking from the outside in, you'll be attracted by the ambiance they are projecting. The wooden chairs and tables look like they are calling out to you. You have the option of sitting inside the restaurant if you'd like to have a peaceful dinner away from all the noise outside. Or you can sit outside if you want to do people-watching while eating. Although it would have been perfect if not for the mosquitoes. At first it wasn't that bothersome, I was just worried that my kid would get mosquito bites all over her legs. But then, I remembered I'm a mosquito magnet and they seemed to have set up camp on my legs.

The Price

When my husband and I go out on date, we tend to be stingy and check out the prices before we actually enter any restaurant. But since it's sort of like a yearender/yearstarter date, we went ahead and gave it a try. And it was really worth every cent.

The Food

It's a good thing that my husband and I are still doing intermittent fasting, otherwise, we would really feel guilty for eating that much. We ordered the Bacon Slab that goes with rice and two eggs. It has two thick slabs of bacon which was really tasted heavenly even my daughter who seldom eats meat said good things about it.

Then we also had the Quattro Carne Pizza. I tought I wouldn't enjoy it that much but, surprisingly, it had the perfect combination of thin crust, melted cheese, and all those delicious sausage toppings. I usually don't eat pizza because of the grease that each slice leaves in the mouth but this one didn't feel greasy at all.

For dessert, we had the Blackout Chocolate Cake which was by far, the best slice of cake I ever had! It was oh so chocolatey and really really melts in your mouth while melting your heart out. It's been hours since we ate but I can still feel the heaven in my mouth. Kind of makes you want for more of it. It took a lot of energy for me to stop myself from going back and ordering one more.

Poco Deli was a delight in general. Aside from the mosquitoes feasting on my legs, it was the best restaurant experience I've ever had so far.
