Bebalen Cafe in Bener Meriah
Bener Meriah is one of district in Gayo Highland of Aceh Province. It’s well known as a coffee producing region in Indonesia, especially Arabica Gayo. So, coffee here is culture. And we are not surprised to find a lot of coffee shops here.
Bebalen Cafe is more than a coffee shop. It’s not selling only coffee but also many kind of foods and snacks. Let’s see their book menus to show how many different dishes they serve.
Bebalen Cafe is located in Simpang Tiga Redelong, not so far from Azalia Hospital and Rembele Airport. It’s so easy to find.
The interior of this cafe is simple though, but it has a traditional ornament of Kerawang Gayo on a side of wall. Kerawang is traditional motif art of Gayo highland culture.
We could fine a clean and nice room, with some wooden tables.
I was hangout here with some of my friends. We ordered snacks and drinks. French fries, fried jamur, and pancakes.
And the pancakes is made of labu (pumpkin). It’s soft, sweet and tasteful, with thin yellow layer.
We also ordered some Arabica espresso and avocado juice. I think Bebalen Cafe is one of good place to relax and beverage with friend or having lunch or dinner.
We could enjoy fried rice (nasi goreng) or other “heavy” dishes.
Warm regard,

Your description of Bebalen Cafe in Bener Meriah sounds absolutely charming! The blend of strong coffee culture with traditional Gayo highland motifs sounds like a cozy and culturally rich experience. It's fantastic when a café goes beyond just serving coffee and dives into a variety of foods and snacks. That sort of versatility in a menu can really make a place stand out.
Since you're talking about a café that serves a variety of dishes, it reminds me of an Asian food restaurant, that serves excellent Asian food near me. They also offer a diverse range of dishes beyond what you might initially expect. It's not just about the main courses; they have a spectrum of appetizers, snacks, and even unique beverages.
