Best Western Restaurant in Town - Tasteem Review
Hi to all @tasteem & @steemit members!
Today I’m going to share my last Christmas Eve’s dinner with family in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and why did I review this restaurant as “The Best Restaurant of the Year”? There are few reasons to say this is one of the best restaurants because this is one of the fine restaurants with the traditional concept, they serve finest cuts of meat and located in the heart of the city.
History
The Ship Restaurant started 3 decades ago in Malaysia. The owners, Mr Foo and partners took the challenge to start this restaurant with this unique name and their first outlet are at Jalan Sultan Ismail and later to become one of the many more outlets all over Malaysia.
Operating business from 12noon - 3am Daily

From the Outside
This is one of their outlet which is located in the heart of Bukit Bintang. Jalan Bukit Bintang (Bukit Bintang Road) is a major road in Kuala Lumpur. Bintang Walk is the name given due to its location as one of the main shopping and entertainment districts.
The Entrance
The entrance looks stunning! The design is just like a wooden ship with wooden doors. Walking into the restaurant, the professional attired staffs will greet us.
Inside the Restaurant
You will be amazed! The interior is truly something special! It really feels like you are walking into a pirate ship! The place is dark, great ambience with high ceilings which I feel comfortable. The fittings (tables and chairs) looks old just as a ship decor.
The best out of it is their ventilation which you will never smell any stained or foods or smokes after meals as they serve sizzling dishes as well.
The Menu
Christmas & New Year’s Eve Menu
A La Carte Menu
Simple folding menus that have everything you want!
They have a special menu set only for Christmas Eve with a reasonable price at RM89.90+ (est 22 USD) per set with a complimentary gift.
Beside that they also have ala carte at the other side of the menu!
My Choice
6 of us in a family decided to order 1 set of Christmas Meal and ala carte for dinner.
Christmas Dinner Set
The Appetizer - Mango & Shrimp Cocktail with free hot bun
This comes with a mix of fresh lettuce, sliced cucumber, mango, shrimps, capsicum, onion rings and dressed with thousand island.
The Soup - Pumpkin
This soup is really creamy and delicious. The creamy is very consistent and is very fragrant. One of my favorite beside mushroom soup.
Main Course - Roasted Turkey
The preparation of this roasted turkey is one of the best ever I tried so far! The turkey is well marinated. They roasted in proper which is never overcooked. The mushroom stuffing is just a perfect combination with the turkey. They come with the combination of Chipolata sausages, buttered broccoli, corn on cob and potato wedges. The potion is not too big. Just nice for one person. This is so yummy!
From the ala carte menu
Cream of Mushroom Soup
This is one of my preferred soup! I always go for mushroom soup whenever I take western meals. This soup can really taste the melted butter with onions and the smooth whisk flour and is thick! I love this!
Appetizer - Escargots Bourguinonne
This is one of my favorites! Escargots is a French snail in the shells which they baked with chablis garlic sauce and butter. This is a very appetizing dish which is tender, clean and woodsy flavor. The garlic and butter that melts in the mouth. This is totally crave-worthy!
Crispy Spring Chicken
Spring Chicken is actually a very young bird! And this is one of the delicious dishes especially the crispy chicken skin is the best part. The chef did a good cook on how they roast the chicken. The skin is very crispy and is golden brown all around. The chicken is marinated with chef's special recipe! This served with fries and vegetables.
Sizzling Lamb Chop
This is another popular dish! As we can see most of the tables ordered the same sizzling lamb chop. They use triple cuts of New Zealand’s lamb loin which is not too hard to chew and served with brussel sprouts, grilled herbs tomatoes and potato gratin. This dish is served in a hot sizzling plate! SO MAKE SURE YOU DONT GET SIZZLING POPPED INTO EYES WHEN YOU ORDER THIS! The meat is juicy, tender and tasty. This will be one of my favorites dish too!
How much we paid for the total?
All I can say is a reasonable price for what we ordered for. This is a cozy restaurant so make sure you check your wallet before you order otherwise you might end up cleaning the dishes to settle your bills. Haha!
Before we left and we almost forgotten about the complimentary gift for Christmas Eve's dinner set. Is a printed porcelain glass!
Conclusion
If you are looking for “The Best Steak In Town,” then I highly recommend this restaurant. Besides that, you can feel the great ambient too!

Been ages since I've been to a Ship restaurant - we might just try it soon.... Forgotten all about it! We used to go for some celebrations there - birthdays, etc.... Thank for the reminder! :)
