Celebrating Birthday at Sals Restaurant
My mom called me up because one of my first cousin is celebrating her birthday today, she asked me if I knew a place that we could dine in with the whole gang. A place that is new yet comfy, cozy and of course with great food.
I heard there is this fine dining sitting at the middle of the downtown area. I immediately told them about it and its a must that we get to go there.
The Sals Restaurant!
The Place
The place seems to be an old house converted into a restaurant. Its a home away from home. Though, even if its a fine dining, the place does not makes you uncomfortable in any way. The homey feels of the place is seen everywhere. From the furnitures down to their accessories.
The night was fully booked. We were more than 30 people inside. Group of people just kept coming in every hour.
And this was our table, a very long table indeed. I am but proud to belong to a very one big family.
The Food
It was truly a feast, for the food was more than enough for everyone.
Spring Rolls
It was huge rolls and jam-packed with meat inside. I think I have had 3 servings! It was so sad that there is only six pieces per order. Oooppps, the picture only has five, I ate one! I knooooow! I cant stop myself from getting a piece.
Chopsuey
A stir-fry vegetable dish. First look, I was in awed for there were so many ingredients, full of seafood meats! Yum yum yum!
Grilled Fish
One slice of fresh grilled fish! Actually it was ordered for the oldies. hek hek hek.. Naaaahhh, it was really juicy and flavorful.
Fried Chicken
When you have children, Fried Chicken will always be in the menu. That or you have to deal a grumpy kid at the restaurant! Anyway, it was fried to perfection, crispy and juicy too in every bite.
Pansit Sotanghon
In every birthday there is a noodle dish. It is believed that noodles makes us live a longer life. There is nothing wrong believing in the myth, but my family does. Well, the pansit was ever delicious! I like how it melts in my mouth!!!! Despite the fact that it was served in the table for quite a long time, it had not gone dry. I enjoyed it at all! I was very happy!
Oh you know how pansit makes me feel.. ehehehe.. not being bias at all.
Calamari
The Star of the Night!
Truly the presentation was a surprise! We did not expect it to be done in a tower. It was a lovely idea to present the calamari rings this way! A brilliant idea at all!
hmmmm.. yep! It was that good!
The Birthday Girl
One is never too old to celebrate birthdays. It is always nice to be thankful and be grateful of all the blessings life has given us. And it is even great to have a family to celebrate. Cheers!
My Verdict
It was a total package!
The place has a perfect ambience to celebrate special occasions with the family and friends. They serve great foods, all are delicious and flavorful.
Even if the prices are quite expensive, it was worth every penny.
