Patronizing local products along Halsema Highway

I have passed by this place several times in years interval when going to Mountain Province from Baguio City and vice versa. It is the most popular bus stop along Halsema Highway for both public and private transportation. However, I do not remember dining in. I just run to the restroom, buy biscuits or something to nibble on and go back to the vehicle. This time, my tummy really needs something. From five-hour trip from Metro Manila to Baguio City and now another four hours from Baguio City to Mountain Province, I needed something for breakfast.
I first went to the restaurant but it is a self-service restaurant and the queue to the counter and cashier was already long. I commuted and the bus will not wait so I can't wait that long. I went to the bakeshop just a glass door apart from the dining area.

I thought the store has its own line of bakery products but I was surprised to see products of different brands. There were some that I haven't heard of yet.

There were also some that are fairly known to me. I also see them in Metro Manila. Apparently, this bakeshop is a reseller of others' products.

After making a few rounds, I went back and took a closer look inside the glass shelf. Ah, the ones I haven't known yet are products of the locals. That is very good.
They have our popular mamon or muffin.

There was also this oatmeal bar. The label says "home made" and "no preservative." That is a very good way to empower one's self in terms of business. You don't need a full blown bakeshop if you really want to start something. Just the pan and fire will do...

I went to the cashier and asked for a pack of mamon. She took my payment and went to the shelf to get one.

Then I went to the dining area with the hope that the queue is already gone so I can order for coffee but it was still fairly long. I settled with water. 😊

Tot and Lot's Mamon was good. It was soft and tender. The sugar level was just right which is very good. I just thought maybe it will be better if it is more brown. Ah, the color does not affect the taste, yeah?

There were six muffins in the pack. I was sure I can not finish them all. I thought it will be good to share it with friends or familywhile planning for the next stop at Northern Blossoms Flower Farm which they say is just nearby in this same village. Ah, that will be planned. For now, the bus is waiting for more than two hours more to go...

That's alot of time traveling on the bus isn't it macoolette? I could eat the whole pack of muffins by the time I got home. How often does that bus stop?
Buses usually have only one stop for four to six hours travel . Two for longer trips. We had only one for this trip.
I too may have finished the pack of muffins if only I did not get busy taking photos for Steem post. 😂
Well you are so dedicated to steemit if you forget about muffins because of photos for steemit! lol. That's a long time to ride without stopping!
Oh, yeah! Ever since I discovered tasteem, I made sure that I take photos of food that would qualify for an entry whenever I eat out. I will eat anyway. Why not earn from it too? 😃
I flew for 12 hours non-stop to San Francisco and 15 hours back from LA so 4 hours trip is a breeze. 😊 What knocks me down is when I travel on several days straight. Too much fatigue...
Looks appetizing!
I also wanted to eat this :-)))
Thank you.
