Patch Cafe - Baguio City

I met with a friend for a meal. It was raining and she was up for some Filipino snack while I wanted pasta. We decided to meet at Patch Cafe. This is located below SM which is convenient for our meet up. I will be coming from SM and she will be passing by Patch Cafe. Easier to go to. Because of the rain, we need somewhere we can go in and out easily.
I love the decos. They books and interesting pots and vintage objects as well as Cordilleran crafts. They have renovated the place. It is now wider and spacious. Seats are comfortable.
There are enough choices of food like rice meals, pasta, snacks, etc. They have promotion for their rice meals at a cheaper price but it is for a limited time. I would have availed that if we were there earlier.
They also have cakes available on their counter.
My friend ordered champorado with tuyo (dried salted fish) and I ordered tuna pasta.
Champorado is a rice porridge that was introduced by the Spanish. It was later then adpated by the Filipinos and is a favorite merienda or snack or meal. I like the presentation of champorado. This porridge is added with chocolate and milk and the way it was presented by this cafe is really creative. The dried salted fish gives that additional different taste to the food - a contrast to the sweetness. My friend liked the taste of tuyo and champorado so much that she asked for more tuyo but sadly they have limited stock. She enjoyed her meal though.
My tuna pasta comes with two slices of garlic bread and topped with basil leaves. I like how the taste is well put together. No overpowering taste. The tastiness, saltiness are blended together. The pasta is well cooked and firm. The sprinkle of lime adds the needed zest to balance everything.
All in all, it is an okay place. The only issue is that their credit card machine always has problems. Too many times have I come here and they have the same issue. Other than that, nothing bad to be said about the place. I have tried their cakes before and it was okay. It is not at par to other cafes who offer the same at the same price and some are chepaer yet delicious. Ambiance has a relaxed mood. Staff is pleasant enough. Location is just within the business center.
Patch Cafe is at Bloomfield Hotel, Leonard Wood Road,
Baguio City. This is near SM, YMCA, post office and in between 45 Hotel and G1 Lodge.
