A Vegetarian Meal Moment with @enjiliew
This was a vegan hangout with @enjiliew and her mum in Penang. I did not know that there is such a nice and famous vegetarian restaurant in the town ever since I was based in Selangor for most of the time. The place was a refurbished eclectic Victorian shop house where they retained a lot of the old features. I like how they do the refurbishment which the feeling of being in heritage is still strong and they had added a different touch to make it look refreshed.

The place was crowded as we visited during Wesak day. Thus, the wait was crazy for the food especially the main dishes. We ordered asam laksa, the signature snack food (which came later than the laksa and rice), Satay rice and a creamy mushroom based soup (not sure what was it named). Overall, the food tasted great, loved the laksa gravy, and is a pass for me. The satay gravy was a pass as well, as Laksa and Satay gravies are both of my favourites and I am really picky about it.

On the other hand, the drinks were not that shabby as @enjiliew ordered a warm green tea latte and her mum ordered a warm soymilk. I myself had sky juice as I found that the drinks were pretty costly. This meal was also my first to pay with Grabpay where I get a lot of points later on which I could claim for different vouchers like MBO movie ticket for Aladdin :P

In overall, I would recommend this place for a nice hangout with friends or family who would like to have a decent place to enjoy vegetarian food. The upper floor was very spacious by the way and the sittings were cosy as well. Surprising for a restaurant to not optimize the space but providing such an arrangement in term of furniture layout. Anyway, that was a great lunch session where we had a lot of chat while waiting for the food and I would love to come again to try other dishes.

Haha, "gugujiao" is edible? It definitely helps if we can have an eating session together to cure that stomach.

Food taste so far not disappointing, except the snack which I don’t really like it 😂 so will come back to try other dishes.

This place looks awesome and so cozy. I did not realize you are in Penang. I was there for a week two years ago and loved it. I stayed by Times Square and ate good food constantly!
