We were in a rush and hungry. Closes at 3pm the sign board read and my watch was reading 2.32 pm. What caught our attention though was “Lunch Sets” that included a main dish, soup of the day and a drink priced at RM9.90.

There were a couple of tables occupied on the left of the pic but otherwise it was nice and quiet. We had just missed the lunch crowd.

Books and magazines to read while waiting. It gave the place a nice, cozy feel.

As we settled down, staff came up to us to let us know the restaurant only serves vegetables. I was thrilled because I knew @tasteem was on the look out for interesting spots for vegans and the occasional vegetarian meal.

I nodded maybe a tad bit too vigorously. I love Chinese veg. Some people think it is weird that you would eat vegetarian food that resembled fish and chicken. But not my ex who’s been vegetarian all his life and who thought me to eat Chinese Veg.

They did have western dishes too. A fusion of Malaysian, Thai and Western. Most of the meat wannabes are made from Tofu and Beancurd. The price was very decent but we decided to stick with the Sets.

We had a choice of Barli or Chrysanthemum Tea for drinks. Syrup sent separately so you can control the sweetness. Soup was Old Cucumber with Red Dates.

Deep fried mushrooms drizzled with sweet and spicy Thai sauce served with rice. The mushrooms were crispy, having soaked in just enough sauce for taste.

“Fish” cooked in Nyonya style sauce which has a sour base, topped with lots of greens. The portions were generous enough and I didn’t even finish the rice.

There’s a sauce/chilli and utensils station for self-service. I liked the sambal/chilli paste. It had the right amount of heat to give the dish a little extra Ooomph.

And this was the best part. The price was good for the place and ambience. The food was good too.

Love the veggies. The vegetables added to the fish seem like a local dish here that i love.
