Restoran Ruby is a hidden gem tucked in one of the old street of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and we were introduced to this dessert shop by our friends from Malaysia.
This is a shop that has a long history of dessert making and is now in its fourth generation.
The signature dessert of Restoran Ruby are the Black Sesame Paste and Peanut Paste. Almond paste is also a must try. All of these paste are sauteed by hand and grind using a big handmade stone grinder, before boiling steadily to a paste that is smooth and thick.
One of the owner's specialty is a mixture of 2 different paste (like peanut and black sesame) to create Tai Chi shape and style
Besides paste, you can find many other dessert at Restoran Ruby. The egg tart, red bean fried buns, char siew roasted bun, steamed egg custard, and many others
Restoran Ruby opens Monday to Sunday from 11am to 12.15am. Perfect for a late night dessert.
