Archie Moore's - Derby, Connecticut - USA

A little while back, I went with my brother @robjagoe, his wife @cjagoe and my niece Madison to Archie Moore's Bar and Restaurant in Derby, Connecticut. Archie Moore's is a Connecticut chain with five different locations across the nutmeg state. The restaurants slogan is "Connecticut's Neighborhood Restaurant".

Archie Moore's (or Archie's for short) is known for their delicious buffalo style chicken wings and other appetizers. They serve up quality bar food which makes it popular place for take-out on Super Bowl Sunday in the area. Archie's even has their own buffalo sauces, which they bottle up and sell at the local grocery stores.

In the photo above you can see the Buffalo Chicken style Egg Rolls that we ordered as an appetizer. They were good, but ultra greasy. It consisted of shredded chicken in an egg roll wrapper, topped with buffalo sauce and served with blue cheese dressing. Archie Moore's has some extra chunky and delicious blue cheese, which greatly enhances their buffalo-style offerings.

For a meal I ordered some boneless buffalo tenders to split with @robjagoe. I generally prefer boneless wings, because they are easier to shove down your face. Archie Moore's boneless wings are solid as you can see in the photo below. Decent sized pieces of chicken, lathered in their signature buffalo sauce with a side of blue cheese for dipping.

Overall, Archie Moore's is a staple in Connecticut. Their vintage Coca-Cola decor and famous buffalo sauce makes it a great place to stop for lunch or dinner. Or perhaps you can pick up a bottle of their sauce and make your own wings at home!
