Recently I went to Bobette's Bistro in Milford, Connecticut to grab lunch for me and @nicollefiallo. It's a small shack that busts out top-notch soup specials and sandwiches every day. Mussel Chowder

Bobette's is famous for it's award winning Mussel Chowder. It's New England style, which means it has as nice creamy broth. This is @nicollefiallo's favorite thing to get at Bobette's. I ordered a large cup for me and a large cup for @nicollefiallo. The large goes for $5.25. It's always good, although sometimes it is creamier than others. As you can see in the photo, there are some freshly shucked whole mussels floating at the top of the soup.

Turkey, Bacon, Cheddar

I ordered a Turkey, Bacon, Cheddar grilled panini to go along with my Mussel Chowder. It was my first time trying a sandwich from Bobette's (I usually just get soups). There was something about it that seemed off. It was served with a housemade dill sauce, lettuce and tomato. The toasted bread had a burnt flavor to it, not sure if it was the bread's fault of the griddle's fault, but I didn't really like it. From now on I will stick to the soups.

Overall, I think Bobette's is a great place to grab lunch. They usually have over 5 different soups each day which are constantly changing. I don't recommend the panini sandwich, but you will definitely be satisfied if you try the soup.
