PINO BUFFET STYLE FILIPINO RESTAURANT (REVIEW)| The Frugal Traveler's Guide
Pino Restaurant is one of the famous fine dining Filipino restaurants in Cebu City. The ambiance channels elegance with a Filipino touch. They basically serve traditional Filipino foods which made out from garden-fresh harvested ingredients which truly satisfy a Filipino taste.
According to the restaurant, the word "pino" originated from the adjective Filipino word used to express admiration. The Filipino word "Pino" can be used to describe a pleasing personality (fine manners) and impeccable preferences (fine taste buds) and many more.
The restaurant is partly influenced by spaniards and chinese which is somehow applied to the varying characters of their foods and environment. Knowingn that way back in the history we were colonized by Spaniards and influenced by the Chinese market and culture, and somehow adapted their influences into our foods and architectures.
The place seems elegant with their Spanish-Filipino interior. The tables and chairs are classically well-coordinated. The space is very small only good for how many people. It's very tantalizing to have these huge chandeliers on top of you while eating. They also have a function room if you are planning to have a meeting, gatherings or any celebrations. Overall, the restaurant looks like a modernized vintage mansion.
It's one of my favorite restaurants in town. As mentioned above, PINO RESTAURANT is famous for serving FILIPINO & SPANISH DISHES with a buffet price of 300.00 - 400.00 (4.00 - 6.00 US Dollar) pesos which varies on lunch and dinner.
If you happen to visit Cebu City, I recommend this resto as a good place to hangout. The restaurant also has a wine bar and pizza house just outside the buffet restaurant with a cool, cozy and vivid ambiance which gives a feeling of relaxation will surely have you spend time with your friends and family all night long. The restaurant closes around eleven in the evening but you can still stay outside up to twelve midnight while enjoying the place.
THE MENU
They serve excellent food choices from appetizers, soups & salads, main course from the Grill & Spanish Dishes, Vegetables, Noodles & Rice and Dessert.
Their Humba is really delicious i really love it. Humba (pork stew) is a filipino cuisine that is made of pork, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic and palm sugar.
I also loved their Pusit ata (Squid). The squid is perfectly cooked. It's really a must try Filipino cuisine.
That's basically it, the place is something I would recommend to visit daily and tell about to my friends. DEUCES!
