One of the joy of travelling is experiencing things for the first time. So on my fifth month in Canada my nursing friend Erma and I went to see the Aurora Winter festival to see the so much talked about LED illumination as well as to tryout some of the local goods.

That's me trying to smile despite freezing temperature. Yes, snow is foreign for a Filipina like me but same us true for eating outdoors at this below zero temperature after buying from bus good carts. IMG20191124192215.jpg

So how does it taste? Too cheesy but yummy. The serving size wasnt enough for sharing but since we were in a shoestring budget we did. IMG20191124192219.jpg

At 15 CAD dollars a serving it was like a rip off but hey we're hungry and cold so we couldn't care less. Besides after having that festive feeling from all those light installations it was just too stupid to lose ones temper. FB_IMG_1574664691948.jpg

After some minutes we decided to some more reliable heating system so we were lucky to find a table neat the entertainment room

So, what's special aside from this food I tried first time? Well, to see Ontario place glowing .52951a875347f2da59fe1710b49e7e9b.0.jpg

That circle is the Cinesphere where people can see 3D movies. That's where most bus food carts are. Because we come early we were able to take pictures before darkness made everything magical. IMG20191124174316.jpg

In many ways, it's like Cebu's Sugbu Mercado where food vendors sell their foods and diners enjoy the cozy feel of being under the stars and the moon. IMG20191124182212.jpg

Freezing but enjoying that's how I describe that day. The lights were a visual delight so the entrance fee wasnt really much compared to the experience. FB_IMG_1574664562231.jpg

In the movie Eat, Pray ,Love the stunning Julia Roberts discovered that dining isn't just a gastronomic experience but also spiritual. So in my case I guess I failed to be grateful of this wondrous opportunity while many others die of poverty. e597d5bfec15d68714f2758eabe163de.0.jpg

Cliche as it sounds instead to appreciate lighting has to be comfortable with darkness. So I figured instead of thanking how speedy the service and how clean it was served I focused on the price and thus missed out on how juicy the meat is. d29f3a3cdbd189820fb8d4e1191ba498.0.jpg
I must say many are guilty of same. Many of us are so mesmerized by the ambiance that we forget what's essential the food on our plate and the company were blessed with. Feel free to see the video I made. Enjoy.
