Mukellef Karakoy
The famous TV chef Arda Turkmen's restaurant Mukellef Karakoy, is a restaurant with a fantastic view to Galata bridge.
This type of restaurants are classified as "Meyhane" in Turkey, where will you drink "Raki" and eat lots of mezes with a main course. (You eat slow while socializing with the people on the table.)
When you enter the place, the first thing you will see the lot's of mezes straight of you. You will go there with one of the waitresses and make your meze selection.
I have been here more than once and tried lots of mezes here. Even though I have liked almost all of the selection, I strongly suggest you should try these ones:
- Hummus
- Topik (Armenian Meze)
- Fried liver
The Meat selection is also good. The rib was awesome.
In terms of prices, Gotta say, it's expensive on Istanbul standards. However, it does worth it. In average:
- Mezes (12-20 TRY)
- Starters (20-40 TRY)
- Main Courses (45-110 TRY)
I can't visit Mukellef in a daily basis due to prices but that's definitely a good choice if you want to have fun and socialize with your friends, or you need to get rid of the week's stress.
