The Tastiest Ketupat Sayur Padang in Jakarta, Indonesia
Hello, foodies!
Today i would like to share our brunch experience today. At around 10.30 am, we went to the restaurant. It was a small Padangnese restaurant which was located in Abdul Majid Street, South Jakarta.
In the morning, it also sold the ketupat sayur (rice cake with jackfruit vegetable in coconut soup). It also had an outdoor area (on the street) to have breakfast and this was the first time for us came there in the morning. We could eat the breakfast on the street.
But this morning we chose to eat inside the restaurant.
Like another padangnese restaurant, they showed off their menus in front of the restaurant.
They had rendang (beef cooked in coconut), gulai chicken, roast chicken and many kind of dishes.
The Food
What we ordered this morning
Mom chose ketupat sayur only, which no egg or beef nor chicken included.
While me, i tried the ketupat sayur with their beef rendang.
Guess the taste?
It was so delicious. It contained rice cake, beef rendang, jackfruit vegetable with deep coconut soup. And also their authentic pink fried chips on the top. It tasted savory and spicy. The rendang also tasted so good, savory and spicy, with soft texture. The jackfruit also tasted soft and great. While the pink fried chips tasted plain. It was the best ketupat sayur i have ever tasted!
The dining area
They only had a small indoor dining area, and the outdoor only temporarily in the morning (the picture on the top).
The Price
For the ketupat sayur, like my mom's, the price was only 8,000 IDR. While with rendang, like mine, it was 21,000 IDR. They gave the hot tea for free. So we paid 29,000 IDR or only around 2.1 USD.
