Port Dickson real piece of gem opposite of county library
So, when we're talking about travel, we will be worrying what to eat at the destination. Especially in Port Dickson this kind of small town by the seaside, you wouldn't wanna walk into a restaurant and find yourself do not know what to expect. I had a good opportunity to visit my friend Andrew who is working in Port Dickson
If you visit this shop, be sure to look for Margaret, the fried noodle is freakishly amazing. Most if not all from Kuala Lumpur will look for Hokkien Mee(noodle). This, is one of the place that still fried noodle with liver and lard! Take a look at the noodle on the left, there are pieces of crackers on top of the noodle, are made of fried pork belly fat! On the right is deep fried rice noodle with egg gravy. Not forgetting the iced black coffee cow(sorry they have to name it this way, in Cow in Hokkien means thick), you'll be expected a glass of lightly sweetened iced espresso!
This is what Klang people will call Bak Kut Teh. Frankly speaking, it does not taste like traditional Bak Kut Teh in my opinion. But if you come to this place, be sure to try it. I am not sure if it will suit your taste bud, but it sure suits mine! I love this type of soup, lightly bitter, slightly thicker mixture of herbal tea. In the soup came with pork belly, pork knuckle, intestine. Added some fried Char Kue(fried flour sticks like bread sticks) to absorb the spicy soup makes blow. They also offer rice to go with the soup, but it will be too much for me to consume since the 3 of us already having noodles.
From where you see the restaurant signboard, is a county library. And if you take a quick walk towards south for about 200 meters, seriously it is that near! You'll be at the beach side enjoying sea breeze! Don't miss the opportunity to grab an ice cream from the seaside McDonald's. Have a nice chat with your friend here whilst worrying the ice cream melting fast and drip all over the place!
Once again, this type of old school restaurant is going extinct. Be sure to pay a visit whilst we still can. The shop doesn't look any new at all, but that's the precious part of it. It's old school, taste old school, and wait until you visit their washroom, you'll have the feeling of travel back through time! Looked dirty? Trust me the restaurant consider quite clean compare to many new restaurant in the shopping mall. The building looks dated because the shop owner doesn't bother to paint it, what can the restaurant operator do? Either move out or they'll have to fork out to refurbish the building for the shop owner. Who will do that? If the shop owner chase them out after they refurbished it? Trust me, there are tons of old shops in Port Dickson are vacant for decades. The restaurant doesn't wanna move, and the owner promise the restaurant to keep the rental low to keep this business profitable and survived through time.
