Di Naina - Malaysian Mamak Restaurant

This is a place that's serves local favorites such as roti, rice and curry and various stir fry dishes like fried noodles and fried rice. It also serves naan and tandori chicken at any time of the day which often other places that serve mamak cuisine normally don't do clay oven roasted stuff until later in the evening.
Here however, you get to order it all day long and better yet, it's air-conditioned. Pretty important in a tropical climated country such as Malaysia :D
Here are some of the variety of dishes they served today. They had fried eggplant in sambal, stir fried tumeric cabbage, stir fried bitter gourd and some deep fried potato fries that had Indian herbs and spices for it's coating.
Also lotsa of curry to choose from like chicken curry, fish curry and other dry curries.
Fried chicken that has a thick and crispy crust is one of the favorites here. I highly recommend you get their chicken, which is what I took.
This was my meal. Some rice with the awesome fried chicken (you can pick your own part of the chicken, I took the wing) and some of those soft and packed full of flavor and spices eggplant. I topped it up with some chicken curry as well and man was it a hearty meal.
I coupled my spice packed meal with a nice cold cup of iced milk tea, a very popular option here in Malaysia. I really liked this one as it wasn't too sweat or milky and you could taste the tea distinctively. Very well balanced and cooling on a hot sunny day like it was today.
Final reviews:
Ambiance & Hygiene: 3 star
Taste & Flavor: 4 star
Authenticity: 4 star
Price/Budget: (RM8-11/2-3 USD)
To my taste, the iced milk tea will be something I'll definitely go back for any day of the week and the chicken was decent and pleasently satisfying. On the negative, the curry was a little diluted and could've been thicker in it's consistency and the eggplant/brinjal was a little over spicy for my liking.
All in all I give this place a final 3.5/5 as a whole meal.

The chicken looks yummy. I also like the red colors of some of the food. I'm thinking spicy! My kind of thing 👍👍
