Al Borgo Antico
Just a week ago, my wife and I had lunch in the best steak house in my part. The Butcher's shop is called "Al Borgo Antico" and is very renowned both for its unquestionable quality but also for its really cheap price.
The customer, before sitting at the table, must choose the meat directly from the rich counter. Subsequently the meat is delivered to the person in charge of cooking and then you can start ordering the appetizers.
The restaurant is very rustic but clean and tidy. It is difficult to find free tables, especially on weekends, so it is preferable to book. The restaurant is not very large, has a maximum capacity of around 50 seats.
For lunch we took 1 kg of meat (sausage, meat slices and meat rolls stuffed with spices), an appetizer of grilled vegetables, baked potatoes and a jug of house wine, water. We paid in total just 31.50 EUR.

It doesn't look like a place that would be cheap! In America if you are shown the meat and you pick your own to be cooked, that is almost always a high priced establishment. The grilled vegetables looked very good. So is a "keg" just one of those rolls? I would have liked to have seen what they looked like cooked. I liked the whitewashed stone interior, very unique.
I'm sure the price is lower in the USA. in Italy I can guarantee that the meat has a higher price and a lunch like this is really cheap for us!
