Who Dat's Southern Food (Collinsville, IL) - Tasteem Review

We're a long way from New Orleans, but if you have a taste for cajun food, you need travel no further than Who Dat's Southern Food in Collinsville, IL.
This was my first visit. My local group of retirees (St Louis Pony Express) met here today for lunch. There were about 15 of us in attendance and the service was very good. Sometimes that is not the case when you have a large group.
(photos above taken today with my android phone)
There is all manner of cajun food on the menu, from jambalaya and gumbo to gator bites, cajun rice to mufulatta sandwiches and catfish poor boys.
Crawfish etouffee was a popular choice today. This dish is similar to a stew, but made with crawfish and served over rice. The word "etouffee" actually comes from the French that means "to smother".
And save room for dessert! They feature Gooey Butter Cake, and there are 50 varieties (not all on the same day, of course!) Today's choices were Chocolate Chip, Andes Mint, and Blueberry.
The prices are reasonable and it has a fun Mardi Gras ambiance. They also have live music on the weekends. I would definitely go back!

Cajun food is not my first choice, so I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. You have to get out of your comfort zone and try new things.
Hi @blueeyes8960, thank you for your time joining Tasteem contest.

The top 2 are mine, the bottom 2 show where they are from. Is this correct procedure?
Hi @blueeyes8960, thank you for your reply. I would like to inform you that about more than 50% photos in the posts is not yours, especially they are the photos of the food.
As you can know and understand, Tasteem is the contest about reviewing the restaurant and food. if there is no your photos about the food you already order, it's really hard for other people know about that restaurant.
We highly appreciate your time with us, however, pls share with us your experience on food and beverages, overall view of the restaurants you already came and enjoyed.
So, this time we just gave you a very nice #tasteem-warning to let you know about this point in details. This command wouldn't take any effect on your post.
Actually, we are very happy to see your post @blueeyes8960, it means our program is attractive and is growing, becoming more popular. Your attendance plays an important role in expanding our program.
We do hope you would contribute us more great posts in the future. Thank you!

I totally understand your position. When I went to that restaurant with my friends, I took pictures just for myself. I only learned of tasteem later that evening after I had already been there. And so I wanted to do review on it because it was so cool. I thought I understood that you had to have at least one photo (And I had 2) that you had taken yourself. The photos of the food were all taken at that restaurant, just not by me. So now when I do a review (And I will do more!) I will go with that in mind and take all my own pictures. Thanks for the explanation of your expections.

I love cajun food. Thanks for the review, I will certainly be trying this. I haven't had a muffullta sandwich in ages. I bet this place will really be hopping around mardi gras. And gooey butter cake for dessert. Might to make a special trip just for that.
