Traditional food at Caney Mano Beto
Three months ago I visited a really wonderful restaurant of traditional venezuelan food and I found it pretty especial. It was on July that I visited my brother in Barquisimeto city and met there also with my parents for their vacation, so one day my brother took us to lunch in this nice place in order to have the best traditional food in the whole city, so this was another opportunity to make my second restaurant review.
Caney Mano Beto is a traditional venezuelan food restaurant located on the outskirts o the city in a big natural field, it offers just typical food since 2015, and even have live venezuelan music. A very comfortable place to visit with your family.
This is the entrance of the place, you may percieve it has a country decoration, and also that the place was going to be bigger since there's a construction above on the right. Those flags were there because of the World Cup.
That's the main bar of the place where the waiters come in and out to attend the costumers and take their orders.
The old cart wheel with the Venezuelan flag.
If you look to the left from the entrance you will see the first section of tables in the restaurant. As you see this restaurant is located in a field full with trees. And please have a look at that beautiful tiny waterhole there on the left! Isn't it cute?
Then I just kept walking into the bottom of the place and I saw some pretty nice wall decorations plus a table the waiter used for orginizing thmeselves:
Isn't that little wheelbarrow cute?
Wall decorations
These are posters of important venezuelan musicians and singers who have visited this restaurant with their autograph, and also some old photos of the construction of the restaurant. All this really makes you feel you're in a important place full of memories and history :)
A saddle I almost was about to ride hahah and a typical clay pot.
This is what caught up my attention the most, a decoration on the wall made with pottery that has the name of the restaurant with some traditional venezuelan musical instruments. I found this a pretty well done artwrok.
I kept going to the bottom to get to the other section of tables throught this corridor:
Nice horseshoe on the floor!
This is the view I had on my right:
The right side limit of the place.
This is the view I had on my left:
You can see here the previous section of tables we left behind.
And the second and final section of tables in the restaurant! Here was where we finally sat down xD
More cart wheels, little chairs and another waiter's table.
Right in front of this part was this:
Some how another bar.
The backyard
This restaurant had a really big backyard in the back, and since this is a family restaurant it was a grat idea to have a little park for the kids.
I found this girl that seemed melancholic and also to be seriously thinking about life stuff, I didn't want to disturb her but I did want her to appear in the pic so I just took this from behind. That was a really cool spot to think.
The park and a little bench.
Another cute bench at the back of the park.
This is the view on the left:
And I just kept walking:
Till I reached the backyard limit, the fence!
Can you see the horses? :D
The view from the back, since I had to come back because I was already getting hungry:
And I just took the little white bridge way:
That little house on the right was the bathrooms
But then I just arrived to the first section heheh
the bench!
So I had to walk over the grass till I reached my table in front of this hammock or "chinchorro" that in fact has its own name but I cannot remember what it was:
It is made with cowhide and it's typical on this region of the country, if I'm not mistaken.
The place already full of people waiting or enjoying their lunch, and a World Cup match on tv!
Now, after this really long tour of the whole place, I will show you the most important part: the food!
The menu
I really like at lot this menu because of the way it was made, the nice design and the overall aesthetic, look:
It was cutely tied with this cord and all properly covered with plastic.
They had entries like arepas and several types of cheese; servings of: french fries, meats, yucca, black beans, arepa, salads, and sauces; different combos of grilled food depending on the quantity of people, and of course our typical "Pabellón" and "Cachapas".
On the second page, they had typical breakfasts (which most of them contain the same ingredients of "Pabellón") and one called "mano beto"; several types of soups: beef, mondongo, and fish; natural drinks and sodas, 4 brands of beer, 4 desserts: "Quesillo", parchita's, lechoza's and "Dulce de leche"; and at the end the price of the cointainers if you don't want to eat your food there but takeaway.
In general the food was kind of expensive but it was worth it since it was really good and tasty.
The food!
First of all, we all ordered some beers as usually people do when eating typical food, here we tend to drink beer before eating and also while eating.
This is the most popular beer here in Venezuela.
Now,
What did I order?
Pabellón and one cachapa!
I had a long time without eating pabellón and cachapa so I wanted to give it a try:
Pabellón is a traditional dish that contains shredded beef, rice, black beans with cheese, "tajadas" (fried ripe plantains slices) and a fried egg, ususally accompained with arepa (the one in the little plastic basket).
A Cachapa is a thin tortilla made from ground corn, commonly roasted on an iron plate and traditionally accompained with "queso de mano" ("cheese of the hand"), exactly like this one.
The fried pork version.
After eating all this I just felt like I couldn't walk anymore hahahah it was all really delicious and almost tasted like the original and traditional homemade ones. These dishes captured that traditional and typical flavor.
I would really like to come back to this restaurant someday since the atmosphere of the place was really nice and comfortable, very homely and cozy. A restaurant to go with the whole family on a sunny sunday :)
They even had their logo on their plates!
Thankyou very much for reading and watching! Tell me what you think of this please :)
Greetings!
