Today i am going to tell you about a few interesting facts about tamil .

1)Tamil is the oldest living language in the world.

2)Tamil is the first and only language to have been personified as a God.

3)Vaduganathan temple which was build 1000s of years ago at Coimbatore has the shape of a foetus until it becomes 10 months old . This proves the knowledge of Tamilians in field of medicine.

4)Nellaiappar Temple located at Tirunelveli is famous for its musical pillars and was built during 7th century

5)Kallanai an ancient dam built 2000 years ago across Kaveri river in Tiruchirapalli District of Tamil Nadu. The dam has been inspiration to many modern day dams due to its amazing engineering.

6)Gangaikonda Cholapuram is a town located in Ariyalur, Tamil Nadu, India was built 1000s of years ago . Here the interior is made of a material because of which the temperature of the temple changes according to the temperature outside the temple ,i.e, if it is too hot outside then it is cold within the temple and vice versa.

7)Archaeologists found 385,000 year old weapons at a place called Attirampakkam .

8)Tamil was declared a classical language by UNESCO

9)Tamizh is actually pronounced as Tamizh and not Tamil

10)One of the tribes in Cameroon in Africa speak an ancient but deformed form of Tamil called Tamazight.
