History of Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders in the world. It was built on the orders of Shah Jahan.

Shah Jahan was born on 5th January 1592.His real name was 'KHURRAM ', the meaning of his royal name (Shah Jahan ) is KING OF WORLD'. His father's name was Muhammad Salim Jahangir and mother's name was Jagat Gosain. Shah Jahan were married in 1612 with Arjumand Begum but after her marriage was named Mumtaz Mahal.

She was called MALIKA-I-JAHAN means 'Queen of the world '. His palace was made of precious stones. Shah Jahan had many wives such as Qandahari Mahal, Akarabadi Mahal but those wives were only for Political Alliances. Only Mumtaz Begum was special wife . She gives birth to 14 children in which some child died due to not having good health care system that time .
