Open Letter to the Steemit Community

in #tags6 years ago

Dear people.

Of all ages, races, religions, genders, whatever.

What is it that's so hard to so many of you about using tags correctly? I'm just asking. I want to know because I want to help. I really do.

Where is the malfunction?

Where?

Tell me.

Because I mean...

Fuck.

Life is very hard. It's an endless stream of challenges, most of which are very, very difficult to master. Believe me, I know: life is filled with things that are hard. From money to love to jobs to health...

Using tags on social media, however.

IS NOT ONE OF THOSE THINGS!

Here's a quick, easy-to-remember mental trick that you can use every time you're about to post, okay? Do this every time before you post.

No cheating. Every time.

Think to yourself:

"Hmm. Does my post have anything to do with STEEM the blockchain?"

If the answer is YES, do use the tag STEEM.

However, if the answer is NO, you DON'T use the fucking tag.

How hard is this? How hard is this?

If I'm posting a post about camels, guess what, hot shot? I'm not tagging it under "cars".

You know why?

BECAUSE IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FUCKING CARS!

Apply this logic to everything.

Thank you.

Ok... I won't use the "fucking" tag in the future for posts, that have fucking nothing to do with fucking! #steem #camel #cars

It's very true. I see so many posts using the #introduceyourself tag that have absolutely nothing to do with the person giving a primary introduction. It's just tag abuse. I think Steepshot needs to cut down to 5 tags. I see a lot of posts from there that have 15 tags. Your one photo and zero text does not have that wide of an appeal. Yes, there is a dog in the background, but you don't need to tag it "dog." Bah!
