RE: Add Some Tagalog Or Filipino To Your Post In The Next 7 Days, To Particpate In Winning 30 Steem!
Haha! Thanks for the shoutout. This is an awesome initiative to strengthen Filipino ties. As you may have noticed, I've changed my signature ever since I stumbled upon you, @hulkbuster and the others so that we could easily standout.
In any case, my ongoing story, A Day in the Clouds, is peppered with a bunch of Tagalog and Spanish words. Does that count?! HAHA! :D Some of the words I've used so far are coche (Spanish spelling, but still heavily used in Filipino/Tagalog), talaga, and, most recently, anak. I even explain their definitions in the complementary series, SILVER LINING (the latest one has an in-depth explanation on the words ha and anak.
The chapter this week unfortunately doesn't have a lot of Filipino words, but I do mention coche quite a bit, and I even sneaked in Bathala in there ;) In honor of this initiative, I shall have a brief discussion on Tagalog theology and mythology for the SILVER LINING this week (to be posted on Friday). Because of my busy schedule, I'm not able to write a new original Tagalog story, but I hope to do so one day. I hope that these placeholders will suffice, and that the frequency of the words would be counted. I don't want to force the Tagalog words for the sake of writing them into the story, so I just let it flow naturally. I hope it would be enough.
Oh, and one other thing! I've been meaning to talk to you guys about this for quite some time now, but maybe instead of using a ph, tagalog or filipino tag, how about we use a unique tag like "proudlypinoy" to stand out. It could be a unified tag for Filipino posts. What do you think, Terry?
