Steemit Tales #4: Sword and Shield of Dawn | Espada y Escudo del Amanecer
The empire was divided in 6 vassal kingdoms. Corinthis was one of the kingdoms in the border of the empire, Queen Alexandria's first objective. Propaganda had taken its effect and both sides look at each other no longer as brothers, friendly neighbors with different flags, no, those days were all over, now the only thing that lived between them was pure and uncontrollable hate.
The first clash against the troops of Queen Alexandria was disastrous for the kingdom of Corinthis , not only in one battle did they lost their entire dragoons division,lost valuable farmland and countless citizens to the pillaging that took place after. Corinthians were not pleased and demanded more from their king and the empire, families had been taken apart by blood and sword . When the king of Corinthis stepped out of the palace he heard what his people were demanding:
WE WILL NOT FORGET WE NEED TO AVENGE THEM!
The king , fearing a revolt, started a full mobilization and asked the emperor for legions to be sent his way. The people , though temporarily pleased, hated their current state as vassals of a weakling and a puppet. They needed a real leader as a ruler, not some marionette with pompous hair and a lack of visible manhood. The people needed a warrior to defend them and fight beside them against the foreign filth.
What most of the people did not knew is that amongst the soldiers sent to the front-line there was already a leader, one born in the crucible of combat. Legends were spoken about the girl that could withstand it all, fighting with all of her impetus for her country and to honor the gods. She is not a common women however, her name was Aurelia and she fought valiantly against the hordes of black and red enemies that came from distant lands . But for every one she slew another one took its place, if they wanted to win something had to change.
The man called her the Sword and Shield of the Dawn. A true warrior princess , she was the first one to head the shock charges against the invading forces and the first one to make it back , unharmed. That rumor began creeping out of the Corinthians lines and started to take deep roots in the Alexandria's army, soldiers were fearing the Angel sent from heaven and although hatred filled their hearts, a man's heart knows love among all things and fears the light more than the darkness.
When Queen Alexandria heard the rumor she only uttered one word:
-SWORD!
El imperio estaba dividido en 6 reinados. Corinthis era uno de los reinados que se encontraba en la frontera del imperio, el primer objetiva de la Reina Alexandria. La Propaganda había surgido efecto y ambos lados se miraban ya no como hermanos, amistosos vecinos bajo diferentes banderas, no, esos días habían acabado, ahora lo único que existía entre ellos era un puro e incontrolable odio.
El primer enfrentamiento contra las tropas de la reina Alexandria fue catastrófico para el reino de Corinthis, perdieron toda su división de caballería junto con valiosas tierras y los incontables ciudadanos que perecieron despues de los saqueos que prosiguieron a la derrota. Los Corinthianos estaban enervados y demandaban más a su rey y al imperio, familias habian sido separadas por sangre y espada. Cuando el rey de Corinthios salió de su palacio a escuchar a su pueblo escuchaba:
¡NO OLVIDAREMOS A LOS CAIDOS LOS VENGAREMOS!
El rey , temiendo una revuelta, empezó la movilización completa y pidió al emperador legiones para defender la frontera. La gente, temporalmente complacida, odiaban ser súbditos de un títere enfermizo. Ellos necesitaban a un verdadero líder como governante, no una marioneta con cabellos pomposos y una falta de gallardía crónica. La gente necesitaba un guerrero que los defendiese de los sucios invasores.
Lo que desconocían es que entre los soldados enviados al frente ya había un líder, una nacida en el crisol del combate. Legendarias eran las historias de la mujer que podía soportarlo todo, Legends were spoken about the girl that could withstand it all, luchando con todo su ímpetu por su reino y por sus dioses. Ella no es una mujer cualquiera, su nombre es Aurelia y lucho valientemente en contra de las hordas negras y rojas de enemigos de tierras foráneas. Pero por cada uno que ella vencía otro tomaba su lugar, si necesitaban ganar algo tenía que cambiar.
Los hombres la llamaban la Espada y el Escudo del Amanecer. Una verdadera princesa guerrera, ella era la primera en liderar las cargas en contra de las fuerzas invasoras y la primera en regresar, sin ningún rasguño. Ese rumor empezó a dispersarse a través de los ejercitos y llego a los oídos de la reina Alexandria. La reina solo respondio con:
¡ESPADA!
