With day 5 finished I am pleased to announce I have lost 1.8kg / 3.9lb WHOOHOO! I don't look or feel much different physically but I must admit mentally I feel fresher (guess it's not consuming alcohol for 5 whole days). Extremely happy wit the results so far. Being the first time in my life that I attempt to diet I can admit it's a lot harder than I thought it would be. Just finding healthier things to eat and make. I've gotten used to all the easy and fast food on the go.

Sit back and let me show you my results, and once again look at my sexy body, just kidding.

RESULTS!

Front view, can't really see much of a difference, maybe a bit around my belly.

Side view, also just a slight bit noticeable around my waist.

Let's get back to my normal blogging routine and show you my day. Sure your eyes have been tortured enough.
Can only get better from here, I can promise day 10 will be easier on the eyes. :-P

Breakfast

Today I was really craving something sweet when I woke up. I ended up eating some canned peaches and 2 snack bars that contain mostly nuts followed by a large sugar free americano.

Lunch

Lunch was a big one! Some coworkers wanted to go out, since we don't work tomorrow because of a national holiday! Whoohoo!

We ended up at a Korean restaurant where I ordered some lovely Gamja-tang with rice and kimchi. Gamja-tang or pork back-bone stew is a spicy Korean soup made from the spine or neck bones of a pig. It often contains potatoes, cellophane noodles, dried radish greens, perilla leaves, green onions, hot peppers and ground sesame seed.

It might not have been the healthiest but the mood was light and I was hungry! Will have a small dinner to make up for the large lunch. The Gamja-tang was absolutely delicious! Highly recommended if you ever visit South Korea

Dinner

Hand for scale

Dinner is two Triangle Gimbaps. Basically triangle shaped rice with some filling (tuna, meat) inside wrapped in dried seaweed.
Fast and easy.

Exercise

With today being Monday and having had a long weekend I felt a bit tired, but still motivated. I walked, a lot! Went and did some shopping while carrying some heavy bags all the way home instead of taking a bus or taxi. I know I could've done more.

Tomorrow will be my exercise day and I will push myself.

Meal Planning and shopping

Finally coming to the conclusion that in order to not break the bank and eat healthy I am going to have to make my own food and prepare some meals ahead of time. Bought some Tupperware to keep my chicken salads nice and cool in the fridge. Also bought lots of veggies and chicken. Starting tomorrow I will try to prepare all my food myself. Let's see how that goes.

Overall I'm stoked with my performance! Will focus more on my meals and exercise! Getting better at this day by day!

Day 5 - Done and Dusted

To all my followers, I know you don't always upvote but I know Steemit is full of posts and it's hard to follow everything. To those who upvote, thank you so much! You might not know it, but it's hard for me to stay motivated. Steemit has made it so much easier for me and without it, I fear I might have given up already. High fives and lots of love to all of you!

Damn I'm jealous I just recently dropped about 40 pounds. I wish I had done an awesome documentation of it like you have. Good luck! Keep at it! I found in my journey that your weight loss is majorly effected by snacking after you eat dinner.

40 Pounds! Well done! What was your initial weight if you don't mind me asking? That is still great results. Did you exercise? I tend to stay away from all snacks. Popcorn is my weakness though, but I only get it when I go to the cinema so luckily that's not too often. Thanks for your kind words!

I went from 220 pounds to around 175 pounds. So like 99 kg to 79 kg. Yes I excerised 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week. I used the olliptical at the gym. Its a machine thats like half running, half biking.

Oh my that's insane! It's like 20% of you! Hope you are keeping it off! Great job mate. Will you continue to lose more or are you happy with your current self? I think as long as you ate happy then let it be what it is. Really good job though!

At this point i'm working on gaining muscle. I've ended all cardio and started to do heavy lifting 5 days a week. I bought an awesome body composition scale that tracks muscle weight and body fat. So now my weight is going back up but my body fat remains the same. I also eat a very clean diet. Most nuts, lean proteins, whey & vegetables.

Dude! Blog that! I will follow the hell out of it! Curious about that machine you speak of.

I usually burned around 400 calories in 20 minutes

That much? Sounds almost too good to be true. Must have been a hell of a workout!

in economics term...you are suffering a loss of "fat"....hahahaha...but gain your health...upvote and resteem for your effort...cheers..

Thanks mate! Appreciate it!

u r welcome...dude...keep it up...

What you're doing is very inspirational. It's going to happen for you.

I couldn't sleep after my post. Instead I was lying in bed, feeling motivated and thinking how can I improve my account. I checked my phone, 2 votes... Then I voted for myself. 2 Votes! As long as I believed in me and someone else did. I'm not alone... I got out of bed and decided to go for a morning cycle (around 5:20am here). Cycled and then went to an outdoor gym in the mountains that I once hiked. I was amazed at how many old Korean folk there were. I am not lying if I say at least 50. All doing there stretching and exercises. I felt terrible, they can do more than I can. A 60 year old doing pull-ups... I decided, I could either be lazy and feel pity for myself or I can man up. I chose the latter. I went at those machines like a dog at a bone. I was sweating and breathing heavily. Eventually took a walk to cool down and then head home. I got home and saw I got one more follower. Whoohoo! Then I saw a reply from you. As I was about to reply I looked at my upvotes. My mouth fell open and I honestly thought it's impossible. Must be a mistake, refreshed my page and then almost started crying and felt humbled by what this site can do for someone. THANK YOU. From the deepest part of my soul THANK YOU. To all of you! I'm going to fall asleep hoping this isn't a dream.

This motivated me to explainable extends. For me and for you guys, I will get in shape, I will be fit, I will stop drinking and I will share it all with you as a thank you. If I could motivate only 1 person out there my heart will be filled with joy. Sorry for this long reply but I'm still rather shocked.

You are an athlete!

Very good job. Be very careful though, the problem with these challenges is that have an ending. You're doing a very good job, but please always remember that a healthy lifestyle doesn't have an ending. Keep up the good work and much respect to you!
