¿A qué habrá regresado?

The mystery of the tower of the mansion.

With the sunset of the day, a gloomy silence begins that encompasses the region, the birds avoid passing over the most emblematic mansion of the place, and the solitude reflects a sober tension in the surroundings.

People over the years had created stories about the ancient construction, the truth of all, no one dared to approach it since the disappearance of some intrepid young people who desecrated their limits twenty years ago.

Peter, a man of more than thirty years, had just returned from the city, which was his home during his college years, was now back in his hometown with the purpose of claiming the inheritance of his maternal grandparents. One of the requirements was to spend the night in the tower of the house he inherited, in the house that people feared.

People muttered behind him: Isn't that the sorcerer's grandson? What will he have returned to? It is best that you return to the city where you came from!

The scientist had no care what they thought of him and his family, after all, his parents had long since moved there, in fact, when he was only four years old, but he was surprised, the great Superstition of the villagers.

In the big house, everything seemed as if time had frozen, order and cleanliness reigned on the ground floor and the door to the tower was closed. The lawyer of his late grandfather fully complied with the testamentary instructions to keep the house until it is time to transfer the property. He wondered why he was the only heir and not his mother or his sister.

Late at night with the sound of crickets everywhere, Peter lay down on the dresser in the main hall, ready to read an article about quantum mechanics, when a flash lit the cracks in the tower door. He remembered the lawyer's words when he handed him the key to the tower door, I finished his grandfather's work. But how was he going to finish it? He didn't remember him physically, he had never seen a picture of him, and his mother avoided talking about him.

He set aside the magazine, walked to the door, put the key in the lock. As I climbed the stairs to the third floor, he wondered, what will be the mystery that awaits me? Will it be worth being there? Well, by the end of the night, I will have fulfilled the requirement and will be able to sell the house to finance my research.

When pushing the door, the jaw almost falls to the ground, impossible, it is a high-tech laboratory. My grandfather was a sorcerer, but a sorcerer of science. Eagerly, he followed the instructions on the main computer screen. A female voice welcomed him by name. Who you are? Sorry, I meant, what are you? Peter replied in amazement.

I am the virtual replica of your grandmother and you will soon meet your grandfather, once I finish with the quantum algorithms that he commissioned me, until you verify with your arrival the acceptance of your new work.

Surely, now he will become the new wizard of the tower.

The end.
