Hello! I'm new, just pretend that I know what I'm doing

Hello Steemit community!

I don't know you, and you don't know me. But a couple of days ago I came across this website from a youtuber I watch, and I thought it sounded like a good idea. A cool idea. One that I would like to be a part of.

My name is Sebastian, Seb for short. I live in Lisbon at the moment, but I'm offically from Norway. I wanted to do something different with my life, and also get away from Norway's cold winters. I am slowly falling in love with this city; great food, great wine and great women. I guess I'm just going to talk about my experiences here, as well as my interests such as sports, music and art, maybe share some pictures. Like this one I took the other day.

But here is the deal though, I'm not a writer, nor am I any good at it. However, I like to write. I enjoy pouring it all out on the blank page. Like a mind diarrhia. So if that sounds somewhat interesting, you should follow me for more content.

I think you got this slightly wrong gogogadgetupvote. I'm pretty good at math and memory is my specialty and it is based on attention to details: 0,36¢ does not equal $0,36. I think your upvote at full strength is worth 36 ¢, enough to buy a banana where I live! 0,36 ¢?? they will show you the door!!

You wrote on your first post 0,36¢ which is equal to $0,0036. I think your post is worth $0,36 or 36 ¢. Maybe you aren't wrong but are just using a different format to express yourself. In my country, Canada, I think you would be considered wrong.

In America, thirty six cents is the same thing as $0.36 or 36 cents. You have me confused there with your commas instead of decimal points.

I googled "how to express cents in the USA" and it gave me the link to the above site and it suggest that I'm right. You can't put the "." before the 36 ¢, even in America. I think this kind of mistake is common. Again, I think I'm strong in math, not very strong as in university mathematician, but still above average and people generally don't appreciate math as I do and even get angry at me for pointing out what they think is correct but which is not. For instance, my dad once got angry at me for suggesting that a guy aged 49 was not in his 50s yet. I don't bother with trying to explain to him. Math is like memory; it can be really hard to master, especially for some people.

Damnit! I after going back and looking at it, you are right, the decimal place shouldn't be there. .36 cents suggests that my vote is worth less than one cent (about a third of a cent) so it should be "36 cents" without the decimal or .36 dollars. My math is pretty decent, but I totally failed english there. LOL
