Kafka in the house: nothing inspiring than life

Some people always ask where to find the best ideas for inspiration and art. For me it's very simple, I get a lot when I just walk on the street, walk through the city alone and fast when I read or see something when I visit some events and talk to people. There is nothing bad in being stuck, it's part of the game. But sometimes something happens and you already feel yourself like in a movie or cartoon, or book.

Several weeks ago I heard a strange noise in my newly renovated flat that I started to rent just one month ago. I didn't pay attention to that. But one night I woke up from a loud noise and found an insect on the floor. It was quite big - 3 cm and had wings but it couldn't fly. I thought ok, one is not so bad, just an accident. And I went to bed again. Then in an hour I woke up again and found another insect of this kind on the floor. I decided to keep it in the plastic box and called Hausvervaltung next morning.

Two days later I found out two perfect holes on my floor exactly under my chair, and I thought "What's a fuck! It's so scary!". I was very scared and couldn't sleep properly, because I'm very sensitive to these kinds of things.

I started to google myself, while I was waiting for the biologist to come and check what is it. I thought that it's a bug that lives in the wood and destroys it completely and there could be hundreds of them. Brrr!

Then biologist told me it's HolzWespen or Sirex juvencus or steely-blue woodwasp. They live in Europe, Siberia, Sakhalin Island, Japan, the Philippines, Algeria. But normally their habitat is in the forest on the pine trees. And of course they eat wood and make tunnels in it. There is no danger to people but still, it's not a very pleasant experience.

The reason why they were in the flat that the wood was not good enough or they moved there 2-3 years ago and developed just now. "Shit!," - I thought and imagined I have another city under my floor full of bugs and their houses.

Hausvervaltung promised to repair the floor and keep an eye on it if I will be disturbed, but the story itself doesn't live my head.

I was sitting in the kitchen today and looking at the vacuum cleaner. I thought what if this vacuum cleaner could have tentacles like an octopus. Hmm…Why not? And made a quick sketch about it.
