Table Etiquette (What it means when placing your knife and fork in a certain way on your plate)

in #table-etiquette7 years ago

Good day to all prim and proper fellows.

We all as human beings like to spoil ourselves in going out for some fine dining
at some sort of fine dining restaurant somewhere, wanting to act normal and
know what to do in and after your eating process.

Well ? Let me explain without further ado:

Eating Etiquette Rules.jpg

We will start from the top left moving slightly over to the left and then to the bottom row in the same manner as follows:

No1

When eating your delicious meal and someone rudely or politely interrupts you whilst eating, place your knife and fork
side ways on an angle with the tips touching your plate edge. Respond and eat again if you know what I mean.

No2

When eating your scrumptious meal, but in the means of this amazing experience you feel stuffed for a second or two
place your knife and fork side ways on an angle within your plate to express a sign of a break.

No3

When one pays a lot for food there is some times when you will wait a great ordeal of time for your next course
upon arrival as the portions are politely small, but satisfying. In this case you will create a cross on your plate as
shown letting the server/waiter/waitron know you are in awaiting mode for the next course.

No4

After your most amazing dish full of flavors are now complete and in your belly, you will then place your
knife and fork next to each other in the center of your plate in showing that you are done.

No5

You will find that once in a blue moon at some or other 5 star fine dining restaurant you will have a really bad
experience with the taste in the food and flavors, you will then slide your knife into your fork creating a angle
and place it on top of your plate. This will notify the restaurant that you are really upset and that they should
scrap this dish; normally this is when you will get a chance in speaking to the owner of the restaurant.... lol.

Last but not least this is most def. my favorite table etiquette.

This one is for the people that had the most amazing dish ever and are so happy and satisfied that you are
willing to pay anything just to get that recipe, you will go about placing your fork and knife next to each other
sideways on your plate with the the cutlery eating side facing to the right of your plate whilst sitting in front
of your plate.

Well, I really do hope you enjoyed this post and I really hope that you know how to kit yourself out
when going out for the best experiences of your life to a number of 5 star fine dining restaurants across
the world in showing them that you do have skills.

All the best and Regards
