Fall of Assad regime and what it means.

The likely fall of the Assad regime is the fourth major demonstration of how much Russia is struggling with Putin's Ukraine gamble.

So far this has become clear when 1. Russia had to withdraw most of its soldiers from the Finnish border, 2. Wagner was able to take Rostov-on-Don without resistance 3. a weakened Ukraine was able to take parts of Russian territory and hold them to this day. Of course, there are many other telltale signs, such as extremely low unemployment.

What has Putin accomplished so far?

• NATO has gained two new members.
• Russia has lost access to Western markets and is now dependent on China's goodwill.
• India has virtually stopped buying Russian arms
• Russia's superpower image has been tarnished in the eyes of its enemies.
• Putin has turned Germans and other European populations in favor of defense spending.
• He has brought war to his own soil.

And now likely the overthrow of his ally in Syria and the possible loss of Russian bases there necessary to support Russia's operations in Africa.

All this to take over the territory the size of Luxembourg in Ukraine this year.

Meanwhile, NATO hasn't lost a single soldier.
