Chidadella, a beautiful fortified city of medieval origin.
This city was one of the must-see places, as it is one of the so-called fortress cities of the Veneto region.

The wall encircles the entire center of the city, interrupting only in one place, where it was destroyed as far back as the 16th century.

A deep ditch filled with water was dug around the wall, which provided additional protection for the city in the event of an assault. Previously, the water level was about twice as high as it is now. Access to the fortress was carried out with the help of lifting bridges, later replaced with stone ones.

It is interesting to consider the construction of the fortress wall near. It can be seen that the walls were erected after the construction of the towers, they are not connected with each other. Moreover, at first the walls were wooden, and later they were replaced by brick ones. There is no foundation near the wall, it is kept at the expense of the mound in the outer and inner sides.
