Culture of ancient Egypt. Museum in Istanbul

Today we will make a trip to the Archaeological Museum of Istanbul. In the building of the Museum of the Ancient East there is a small but interesting Department. It is dedicated to the ancient Egyptian culture.

Egyptian culture has passed a difficult and long way of formation. Many of the cultural values that the Egyptians created became the property of all mankind. Therefore, it is always interesting to watch the collection, which presents the history of Ancient Egypt.

Interestingly, the classical principle of ancient Egyptian culture is belief in eternal life. Great achievements were in the ancient Egyptians in the field of mummification. But without great success in chemistry, physics and medicine, it would be difficult to do so.

Sarcophagi in Istanbul Museum are closed with glass. The light is always muted, or not at all. But when you approach the exhibits, you can turn on the light yourself.

Sarcophagi were found in the ancient city of Thebes. Excavations conducted by the famous archaeologist from France Eugene Grebo. In the area of Deir del Bahri found sarcophagi that belong to the priestesses and priests of the temple of Amun.

So the mummy looks into the modern world from the sarcophagus. Nearby are ritual vessels-canopies. They found them in the tomb of Hetepheres. The canopies are made in the shape of a pitcher with a beast and a human head in the form of a lid. Did they are often made of alabaster. We took a short walk to the archaeological Museum of Istanbul. A small corner of Ancient Egypt is another decoration of the Museum. Even a few exhibits make it possible to touch such an interesting story and get a lot of impressions.
