Mini majestic castle - Palace of the Shahs

The immortal masterpiece of architect Felix V. gonsiorovsky, who put his soul into his creation, is located on one of the streets of Odessa. When designing the building, the author picked up a style completely unusual for the city of those distant times, so it stands out for its grandeur, among other palaces and mansions.

In 1848, the city of Odessa is visited by a young talented Polish architect Felix Gonsiorovskiy. Creatively burdened Neorenaissance and neo-Gothic, he's already in 1852-53 years is building, for one of Polish aristocrats Zeno Brzhozovsky, Palace. Repeating the plasticity of the English Gothic, according to some of his contemporaries, he is a twin and a counterweight, located opposite the Vorontsov Palace.

Family Zeno Brzhozovsky is considered to be the owners of more than 50 years. Further it passes into possession of one of the richest people of the city — Fedor Rafalovich. In 1909, the castle-Palace became a rented residence of the Persian Shah Mohammad Ali, in fact, thanks to which it received its majestic name — the Shah's Palace.

Mohamad Ali belongs to the Qajar dynasty, he was expelled from Iran after the coup and the lost uprising of 1911.

After some time, the owner of the Palace is józef Schönbeck, he belongs to him for a short time, with the advent of Soviet power, the property was nationalized. There are really hard times for the monument of culture and architecture. In the post-revolutionary period in the Palace, one by one, are placed organizations that in order to adapt it for themselves, literally, destroy the decoration both internal and external.

Ruthlessly destroyed carved furniture, statues, paintings, parquet from valuable breeds of a tree, even the tiled stove was completely dismantled. All went into oblivion!

Even despite military actions, in time of the great Patriotic War it wasn't put so much damage to a monument of architecture. On the contrary, he falls into the skillful hands of the masters of the house of creativity, and in a short time begins to Shine anew with his beauty and grandeur.

The first years of Independent Ukraine had a decadent impact on the Shah's Palace. "House of creativity" was closed, and the building knocked doors, Windows, damaged plaster. It would have melted it, if not for the Marine transport Bank was not undertaken for the reconstruction, which lasted from 2000 to 2004. Together with the scientific and design restoration Bureau, the ancient castle was converted to the needs of the Bank, completely renovated, which gave it a third life.

Today, the Shah's Palace proudly flaunts with pathos, justifying its name deservedly. Around his history there are many rumors and gossips, he was interesting to the people at all times. And today, many tourists never cease to admire walking around the adjacent Park.

Architecture

The monument is considered one of the most beautiful historical buildings in Odessa. Mini-castle stands out sharply and favorably among other architectural monuments, the historical part of the city. The Palace, built in the uncharacteristic neo-Gothic style, has been an authentic decoration of the city for more than 150 years.

Initially, the construction of a military hospital was planned at the construction site, in fact it began, but it was delayed. Half of the erected walls were dismantled and plundered.

Shah's Palace consists of two floors, built of limestone with stone cladding. The powerful walls feature scalloped towers, and the large Windows and many arches resemble the ancient English style of castles.
