Love did not allow him to marry the girl of his circle, and his heart he gave his wife, abandoning titles and privileges, which he was promised the position of parents in society.

Nikolai Dmitrievich was a talented artist, and he chose a place to live, so that it pleased and delighted his eyes, together with his young wife he settled here – in Stepanovskaya estate. Nikolai Kuznetsov had his own Studio in the estate, where he spent a lot of time and created his great masterpieces.

But he did not leave without attention and his wife, leaving time for entertainment and fun in the estate often visited guests, among whom there were celebrities. For a long time the estate was a nominal heritage of the Kuznetsov family, but at some point, still moved to the local village Council. The possession of the family of the Kuznetsov extend for several hectares. The estate was considered quite wealthy and prosperous, workers worked on it, and there were many different buildings. But, until now, only the main building has survived.
