South Korea - the birthplace of many world brands, such as Samsung, LG, SK, GS and Amore Pacific . This is a country where wireless Internet Wi-Fi is available in almost every cafe. And how well do you know South Korea? What do you know about Korean conglomerates?

What do you know about LG?

Surely, most of you, after hearing the LG brand, come to mind with home appliances. Televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and so on. And someone will say that they are producing smartphones and LG mobile phones.

One of the main and most profitable directions of LG company are electrical appliances, which are exported to almost all countries of the world. This branch of the company is officially called LG Electronics , and its history began in 1958.

Despite the fact that LG Electronics is one of the largest companies, it is not the only and not the first.

Let's dip a bit into the history of LG

LG was founded in 1947, and then it was called Rak-Hui Chemical Industrial Corp. (today LG Chem ). Then the main driver of the company was the slogan "Create goods that consumers absolutely need" (literal translation) . Therefore, the company produced various hygiene products, cosmetics, etc. The company developed and the light appeared GoldStar Co. Ltd (today LG Electronics ).

Today, all branches of LG Group or LG Corporation can be divided into 3 areas: Electronics, chemical industry, telecommunications and services.

With this side of the corporation probably all of us are partly familiar. In this direction there are such companies as LG Electronics, LG Display , and 3 more companies. The average annual income of LG Electronics is more than 50 billion dollars. Well, the name of the company LG Display speaks for itself. It was created in 1999 (LG Electronics and the Danish company Koninklijke Philips Electronics), with the goal of producing LCD monitors and screens. Then the company was called LG.Philips Display and was renamed in 2008.

This sphere is represented by 5 main companies, among which I would like to highlight LG Household & Health Care . The reason is simple: I know her the closest. So, LG Household & Health Care includes a series of cosmetic companies: O HUI, SU: M37, belif, ISA KNOX, CAREZONE and about 20 other brands of cosmetics. By the way, many people know the cosmetics THE FACE SHOP. So, this brand was also coined by LG. I personally used once the cosmetics THE FACE SHOP. It refers to the so-called "road shop" category, which is characterized by average price and quality. But ISA KNOX, O HUI, SU: M37 already belong to the category of cosmetics an order of magnitude higher. Although the prices are also higher, but nevertheless, still acceptable. I myself used and bought mother sets of cosmetics from these brands. Sets usually consist of at least 3 products (Essence, softener, emulsion, tonic, face cream, eye cream.) I took a set of O HUI from 5 funds, which cost me somewhere around 130 USD. cosmetics for women in the age of 40+ Alas, I did not have any photos, but after a couple of weeks of application, my face became noticeably bright, the skin color was leveled, and of course, some wrinkles were smoothened. In short, the effect we were satisfied. The only problem, every day to apply all 5 stages of all kinds of cosmetics on the face - it's tedious.

I will not list every brand that belongs to the LG Household & Health Care group, but I'll list the main areas: face and body care products, hair care products, dental care products, childcare products, means for the house (for cleaning, washing, etc.), aromatic substances, drinks, vitamins . By the way, LG Household & Health Care has at least 15 brands of drinks.

LG did not stay aside from the sport. LG has 3 sports teams that are actively sponsored: baseball, basketball and volleyball. I've gone to baseball games a couple of times, and I'll tell you that the LG Twins team is strong and talented.

The telecommunications company LG U + provides mobile communication services, the Internet, as well as home television. In Korea, there are 3 mobile operators: SK, KT, LG U + . And LG U + is considered one of the cheapest at prices. The quality of services for all three operators, in principle, is not very different from each other.

When I first arrived in Korea, I connected to LG U + and used the services of the company for about 2-3 years. Then I switched to CT, and now I'm on SK. Earlier, when buying a mobile device with a connection, the prices of different operators were different. For example, if one operator, say, the phone cost 500 USD, then another phone could cost 400 USD, or even less. But a couple of years ago, a presidential decree was issued and these prices began to be regulated. Now, the prices for mobile devices are the same for all operators, but the tariffs, of course, differ. You, probably, are wondering why the phone is bought from mobile operators? So, in Korea, all mobile devices are tied to a particular operator.
