The burkini ban in Grenoble...

in #swimming2 years ago

I just walked outside today listening to news from BBC on a Podcast and that is when I heard of how the burkini was allowed in swimming pools in Grenoble for a while. This is a full-bodied swimsuit that is making it possible for Muslim women to use the pools as they only show their faces and hands and feet, and nothing else. But, there is a law in France that bans the usage of the burkini, and now the mayor of Grenoble has got to compel with the national rules.

In other words, he wanted to score a good point among the Muslim community of the area, but he is no longer allowed to give them the ability to swim with this, because it has been in court and orders have been given that they are no longer allowed to use such in official swimming pools. In other words, they need to return to the normal bikini or a normal swimsuit.

What do you think of this? Is it fair? Many people call it a hygienic question of whether or not they can use the burkini in swimming pools, meaning that it isn't a question of religion. What do you think?

Would you allow people to use full-bodied swimsuits in your swimming pools?

I would love to hear your thoughts!
